Mount Ararat Cemetery

Mount Ararat Cemetery was founded in 1928 as the metropolitan area’s first and only lawn plan cemetery. There are no annual grave care bills at Mount Ararat. We made our first burial in 1931 and since then have made over 50,000 burials. We are regulated by the State of New York and all our rates and charges are subject to State approval before they can be implemented.

Mount Ararat also has several areas of the cemetery that have been set aside as memorial gardens. These areas are specially planted and no upright memorials are permitted. In these sections, we place special emphasis on spiritual beauty with horticultural embellishments and rustic nooks and shaded arbors. The memorial gardens are very practical too as they afford savings by eliminating the need for an upright memorial.
